Hey guys! Peru is absolutely INCREDIBLE! From the food, to the welcoming people, I have seriously fallen in love with this place. Yesterday, for example, was a really interesting day here. Yesterday also happened to be VERY hot, and not the usual winter weather for Peru, as it mimicked one of the very few hot days that Thunder Bay actually gets in the summer. I managed to transport over 1000 bricks from point A to point B, which was both challenging, and fulfilling. I’m definitely feeling it in my arms today, but it’s so amazing to see the hard work pay off at this place. It already looks so much better, and I feel like I’m even gaining muscle, which is a strangely good feeling. Last night was very special for us as well. The Kansas mission team spent their last night here, the founders of Inca Link came to visit, and we had a feast! By feast, I mean we had some pretty amazing roasted chicken.....and GUINEA PIG! Believe it or not, most of us, including myself, chose to challenge ourselves and try it. Honestly, guinea pig wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected. It tasted like a chewy/gooey version of chicken. If any of you guys get a chance to try it, just do it! I feel like I might gain some “street rep” back home because I can say that I’ve had guinea pig in Peru. I’m so thankful for everyone who has made this opportunity possible for me and I miss everyone so much! I appreciate everyone’s constant support both here and back home, and I can’t wait to share my whole experience with everyone when I get home. If anyone reading this is scared of taking a chance and trying something new, whether it is guinea pig, or missions trips, or anything really, I suggest you just do it, as “the world is your oyster”. Sorry, but I had to try to be inspiring by incorporating my favourite quote in this. Anyways, thanks for reading this and I’ll see all your beautiful faces when I get home! I hope everyone has a good day! Bye!
