    Perspective

    July 1, 2015

Happy Canada Day!  We started our morning climbing a nearby mountain which took us 2 hours with breaks.  Once at the top our team enjoyed the incredible panoramic view of the amazing creation while worshipping our amazing creator.  Distant mountains wrapped all around our team as we stood together as one body united in Christ’s love and purpose for this trip!  Following a time of worship, a challenge by Joca (one of Inka Link’s staff) we spent time in personal reflection, praying and journaling all that God had been teaching us this week.  That moment for me was about perspective.  Looking down into the valley where we had walked from at the tiny buildings we were calling home while staying at the orphanage God was working on my heart.  God has a big heart for the ministry here at the orphanage but he has an even bigger heart for the entire nation of Peru and the 300 million Latin American youth that Inka Link exists to win for Christ.  I am so proud of our Bramalea team and the larger team of mission Peru 2015 for their sacrificial servant hearts.  Whether our students have been cutting down thorn bushes, stacking bricks, digging holes, pushing wheel barrels, playing with the Peruvian children or building relationships with the nationals they have been doing it as if serving Christ himself.  This type of ministry here at the orphanage is the kind that Christ calls his church to be involved in by caring for the hungry and thirsty, befriending the stranger, clothing the naked, and visiting those who feel imprisoned by life circumstances (read Matt 25.31-40).  I am confident that Jesus is pleased as we have been serving Him here and can almost hear Him saying to us, “Well done, good and faithful servants”.  I am looking forward to sharing this experience with our church family when we get home.  Thank you to all who have faithfully prayed for our team; we have definitely felt your prayers and could not have done this ministry without your prayer support and encouragement.

    Keep serving your King!
