    Parting Thoughts

    March 18, 2014

We were on a mountaintop together.
    What did you see?
    What did you hear?
    How well did you listen?
What did you even write down?

We read from Psalm 84; look it up again soon.

But for now, here’s the quote I promised to share with you.

    A FINAL WORD FROM ASLAN

“Here on the mountain I have spoken to you clearly: I will not often do so down in Narnia. Here on the mountain, the air is clear and your mind is clear; as you drop down into Narnia, the air will thicken. Take great care that it does not confuse your mind. And the signs which you have learned here will not look at all as you expect them to look, when you meet them there. That is why it is so important to know them by heart and pay no attention to appearances.  Remember the signs and believe the signs. Nothing else matters.”  --C.S. Lewis The Silver Chair

A few questions to continue pondering:

Probably not, but here are a few simple thoughts mostly in the form of some questions:

1.)  We were literally on a mountain (But you can view the whole trip as your mountaintop experience in some ways).

    1. Did God speak to you clearly, or challenge you with anything in particular?

(In your quiet time on that mountain, or  some other time on this trip?)

2.)  You are back in Canada now.

    1. So be warned: “The air thickens”...life brings with it a return to the normal distractions, busyness, and a return to the routine.
    2. “Take great care that it does not confuse your mind” to what seemed clear to you on your trip while in Peru.

3.)  You make think you know what it is you need to change, what it is you need to do.

    1. Be flexible, adapt; in other words continue to listen well to that same still quiet voice you heard.
    2. God will continue that great work he started in you; he will carry it onto completion. (Philippians 1:6)

4.)  Know things by heart...the signs? BE in the WORD...memorize it; it will continue to guide you!

Great job team! As leaders, we are so proud of you: the work you did, the progress you have made, and the people you are becoming!

Hard to believe that Mission Peru 2014 has come to en end. Thank you to all the leaders who took great care of our youth while on this journey. You have helped to shape and open their young minds and helped them to experience such a life-changing event. God was there with each of you in every moment, helping you all to see those things that break His heart and now have broken yours for those same things. I hope that this journey doesn't end in your lives but instead continues as you go your separate ways and you become the people that God calls you to be.Thanks so much for sharing this journey with us. I will miss this daily time spent looking at the fabulous photos and reading and listening to the blogs of your days spent in Trujillo. God Bless you all.
