    Laura's Blog

    July 1, 2013

So right now I’m sitting on the rooftop of one of the buildings while everyone is starting to clean up to get ready for dinner.  Today was a great day, we stayed home today (I guess you could say) focusing on construction. I really enjoyed today. I did many different jobs today that included: cleaning paint off the floor, taping up windows and doorways, and painting. It feels so good to be here and be able to help and serve God at the same time.

One of my favourite parts of this trip so far would have to be when we went to the children’s ministry just outside of the garbage dump. It was such a joy seeing the kids faces light up when we arrived, and then getting to play and interact with them was just so much fun.

This trip has definitely opened my eyes and has just made me so thankful for what I have.

Quick shout to all my family and friends, I love you all and can’t wait to see you. Please just keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Hey team. I love how you refer to it as your "home" Laura. That gave me such a warm fuzzy feeling. It must be so cool to sit on the rooftop and blog (brings nature and technology together). It sounds like everyone is being very productive and that is encouraging to us at home. It tells us to go out and do (no matter where "out" is - your neighbourhood, or another country). The pictures reflect the joy that everyone is putting into their work. We continue to pray and ask for God's blessing on you everyday. Keep up the fantastic work that Christ has called you to. Hugs to all and kisses for Jaqueline.

I bet you are sleeping well after all the physical work you are doing. I bet you just melt at seeing and interacting with the kids. That is such a blessing to be doing God's work. Thank you for your contribution and many will benefit, Laura.
