Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, hay birthday dear Tishie, happy birthday to you!!!

I hope you are having the best birthday ever! I wish I was with there with you…. Only 2 more days.

Today we went to the garbage dump and handed tangerines and bananas to the workers there. This morning, in debrief, Kasia spoke about thankfulness, which I think suited the day’s agenda. Seeing the people look through the piles of smoking trash searching for items that I could get with a simple drive to Walmart was shocking.  A whole day’s work something you and I could have within minuets, an hour at most. I think that this trip is going to be the most influential, and the one thing I will reflect on continuously after I return home. Another aspect that surprised me was the number of people there, and their attitudes. Many of them were laughing and friendly, wanting to talk to us and allowing us to pray for them. Every time a new garbage truck came in, more smiles came as well. It just makes you think that with all that we have, how can we be unhappy.

My favourite part of this trip was the beach, as I have never touched the ocean before.  I also enjoyed seeing the children at different ministries and the daycare. In regards to construction, I have used a machete, stacked bricks, sanded a driveway, but my favourite was painting.

I am excited to go home, though nervous about the change in culture (again). I pray that learn and grow from this trip, and am able to make a difference back in Canada. I love the peacefulness here; calm and relaxed vibe.

Tomorrow we might e able to have another shopping day (P.S. I got it dad J ) Then we begin the long trip back. Can’t wait to see you all at home!!

Hi team, thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus. You are so inspiring...The pictures, blogs and vlogs are so moving and enjoyable. Jaqueline, it is wonderful to hear that amidst all the physical labour and busyness - that God is allowing you to experience a peaceful and relaxing vibe. God is great!!

We pray team, that all you are experiencing and seeing will be remembered when you return home. We pray that your journey of faith will be impacted and challenged and you will apply all that you have learned and seen to your life here in Canada.

We love all the funny pictures too and are so glad you are all enjoying each other.

We can't wait to hear of lots more details in person.

Jaqueline you were right in tune for Happy Birthday to your sister. I saw the pictures of the dump and some people were sitting in it. Yes, that is a memory you will keep. We are fortunate more than we know. You have worked hard and I have seen some nice smiles on your face. There doesn't appear to be that much sun there and definitely too cool to go in the water. The machete was scary. Glad they showed you how to use it. We pray for the whole team. Hard to believe you will be home Friday.
