    Holly Bye's Blog

    June 28, 2013

Today was an awesome day; we did so many different things.

We toured through the Museo San Francisco. Throughout the tour we saw magnificent ceilings, beautiful tiled walls, huge, old paintings and a catacomb filled with bones.

For lunch, many tried Peruvian dishes such as: papa con crema de pimientos and aji de gallina con arroz. The second dish was spicy and most of us who tried it loved it.

The moment that stood out the most today was when we were trekking up a muddy mountainside in Pamplona. Seeing the homes of the people who lived there, their lives and the lives of their children, smiling, laughing, and running up and down the sides of the mountain without thinking twice. Meanwhile we were the ones walking very slowly, watching our every step, with arms out trying not to slip and fall. At the church in Pamplona, the locals were so happy to come and worship the Lord. It was very evident how much they loved the Lord. It was so exciting to see how energetic they are.

Overall it was a very fun, educational and inspiring day. I can’t wait to see what the Lord has to show us and teach us tomorrow and in the days to come.

I begin each day praying the team will have fresh revelation of the immensity of God's love and that this will spill over and help the local people know how much God loves them and that Jesus died for them. Keep your eyes on Jesus!!!

The pictures of the old buildings were breath taking. The workmanship involved seemed to be detailed. The pictures of Pamplona filled my heart. The contrast amazed me. I cannot even begin to imagine the emotions that all of you were trying to process as I had many emotions from the pictures alone. We will continue to pray for health, sleep, and strength. God bless you all.
