    Fix Our Eyes

    June 27, 2015

I was doing my devotions today, and the word of the day to reflect on was “physical”; and to read 1 Corinthians 2:14-3:9, 9:24-27 and 2 Corinthians 4:7-16. 1 Corinthians 2 talks about having the spirit can help is to make good judgements, and that we can be guided by it. It says that we are all God’s fellow workers, his fields, his building. That exactly describes what we’re doing here in Peru; being the fellow workers for God, being the hands and feet of Jesus. We are doing this because we have experienced God’s love, and that we would like to share it to others; and to also be like Jesus Christ, as he was a person who was loving and kind to everyone. In chapter 9 of 1 Corinthians, it talks about focusing on your goal, and do not run aimlessly, but use my/your body and make it my slave so that I am not wandering off track when I am reaching my goal. In chapter 4 of 2 Corinthians, it talks about being constantly struck with obstacles and things that can bring you down, but you will never be completely broken down or destroyed. Inwardly, we are renewed day by day. We fix our eyes on what is unseen, because what is unseen is eternal. Here in Peru, we are constantly persevering through challenges such as working in the construction site and communicating with the locals and the kids. However, I stay strong and face these challenges because I know that this is what Jesus would do, and this is for my God who has given me so much grace and love, and in return, I should follow his commands, and spread his kingdom to all nations. The days here in Trujillo have been enriching and fun; and I hope it lasts for another week. The dinner was great tonight, because we had a barbecue. We had grilled chicken, and sides such as potatoes, lettuce, corn and carrots. The hot sauce today was not that spicy, because in previous meals, it was spicy. We also tried Guinea pig. Eating Guinea pig is a Peruvian delicacy and I was glad that I had a taste of it because it was really good. The founder of Inca Link came tonight, and he gave us a small speech of what he’s been doing in Latin America. His goal is to reach the 3 million youths in Latin America, and to me, that seems impossible; but doable. I was really inspired of what he said, and it was really excited to see an individual who not only wants to keep the kids well fed, or have clothes, or a place to stay; but he wants the kids to know the Gospel and to believe in Jesus Christ. That is the main goal for inca link, and I am really proud and inspired of what they have been doing. When I go back to Canada, I will continue to serve in the youth ministry. My fire and passion for Jesus just keeps on growing and blazing, and I thank God everyday that I am able to come to Peru, and experience the wonderful blessings that he gave to the people to Trujillo.

You know, at first the blog had no name and we weren't sure, but it turned out to be you!! So first off, WELCOME BACK TO CANADA! My, you got so tan, but it was worth it because you got to serve God and His people even on the other side of the world. It's really exciting for me seeing you and the rest of the Peru team going out there and doing this, that's what it really means to live out the Word of God and us back home couldn't be more thankful that we have goers like you :)

You'll learn this in VBS, but just a reminder that no matter where we are in the world, God is real, God is love, God is forgiving, and God is forever ;)

I see you are anonymous, but it is obvious that God is really inspiring you and touching you in your heart, exactly what he had already planned for you.
