So its day number 4(ish). It has been awesome being here in Peru with a truly remarkable group of students. The energy and enthusiasm that has been displayed puts me to shame, which if you know me, is a pretty big deal. It has been two day of some very serious “construction work”. This has involved chopping huge thorn trees, welding doors, carrying bricks, and moving dirt. It’s pretty phenomenal what 49 people students including leaders can accomplish in a very short amount of time.
All of our physical accomplishments are not really the reason that I have been having a great time here. I have seen students step up as leaders. I have literally seen friendships built and strengthened. I have seen community develop. The most exciting thing is that I have seen students grasp the extent to which God loves them and how that can impact their lives, not just here in Peru but anywhere they find themselves in life. Watching this happen in the lives of these kids has been so humbling and really reminded me of why I got into ministry in the first place.
For those of you at home, thank you for your prayers. They are felt in a very real way, please keep it up. To my amazing wife, Adrienne, I have not been injured or gotten bitten by any crazy bugs.
Much love and God bless

Anyway, it's been so good to read these blogs & look at all the pictures. Your mother & I are so happy to see such joy in your face. We miss that smile of yours but are very honoured to share it with the rest of the mission Peru team and the people of Peru that you're there to serve. Keep at it Meaghan and never forget the army of people back home praying for you and your team! Love you!
Meaghan hug Sierra, Sierra hug Meaghan!
Gotta go check the flyers for any specials on guinea pigs! You gather up some recipes we can try when you get home.
Love you, mom & dad!
