It is currently 3:20 am in Lima Peru and Melissa and I are sitting on our bed terrified of the sounds radiating from the far left corner of our room. We are 95% sure that they are mice … and not one or two but perhaps twenty or thirty from behind the other side of the wall. Though we have only been away for 24 hours the trip has already earned itself the title of Adventure.
The flights ran smoothly and our experiences traveling were filled with heartfelt encounters. Beginning in Toronto our large team and our fancy shirts caught the eyes of many, providing us with various opportunities to share and speak. Lineups were opportunities to tell our story and inspire those around us.
Our biggest encouragement and support right now is knowing that everyone back home is praying for us! God is GOOD and has shown us that many times already. When there was a conflict with the amount of luggage, God provided the means for us to take more; when there was an issue with passports God brought hope and grace.
Tomorrow seems to be quickly sneaking up on us, so for now we leave all our worries or discomforts in God’s hands. Tomorrow will bring a new set of challenges, new people, and new opportunities, and throughout God is our strength, our motivation, our encouragement, and our peace.
If the first 24 hours is any indication of how the remainder of this trip is going to develop I can’t wait to see what he has planed out for us in the next 24 hours.
