I feel like my perception of people that aren't as well off as me has changed. For example I've always thought that people who are more poor are not as happy but my time in Peru changed that. I now see that your financial state has no correlation to your happiness because the kids down in Peru had next to nothing and I rarely saw them without a smile on their faces.
And on my integration back home I found, and still am discovering how materialistic and dependant on popularity, be it social media or in our day to day life, we are. I have also found from coming back that us North Americans are so focused on the future and I think that if we try and apply the rule that was said in Peru which is "Be here now" I believe that it will make a positive impact on many people and help people start to enjoy their lives more.
